Depending on the particular ceremony, parents of the couple are invited as well as a few other family members. The whole ceremony may have quite a lot differences depending on the couple's personal choice and taste, as many ceremonies include music, and poetry. Furthermore, flower girls and ring bearers are common. Most wedding ceremonies are followed by a celebration or party. After marriage, many couples decide to go for a honeymoon at exotic and romantic locations.

rituals and CEREMONY

The wedding ceremony takes place in a fairly simple manner, generally in this order:
1. Beginning of the service - The priest welcomes all of the members present for the wedding and reads out some of the basic Christian beliefs of marriage.
2. Declarations - This is a time for the couple to pray to God and promise to love, support, honour and protect each other throughout all of their life as one.
3. Vows - Then the couple make promises to one another:

for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish,
till death do us part

- Traditional Church of England wedding vows

4.  Ring Ceremony - Then, the ring ceremony takes place. The couple exchange rings and that has a great significance of love, and also that "The two become one." After they exchange rings, they both recite the following:

all that I am I give to you,
and all that I have I share with you,
within the love of God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

5. Proclamation - After the promises and ring ceremony, the priest now confirms that the couple are now husband and wife. This is when the couple share a kiss and congratulate one another.
6. Prayers - This is a time when sacred prayers are said for the couple's life and may they remain together forever. It is said that may include a gift of children, but it is optional.
7. Readings from the Bible and sermon - Passages from the Bible are recited and the minister of the Church gives a sermon. (a short talk)
8. Signing of the register - This is generally the end of the ceremony where the bride and groom, and 2 witnesses go ahead and sign the register confirming their marriage as legal. This is compulsory for all marriages and then the husband and wife receive a legal marriage certificate.
